Muay Thai Boxing Strengthens Sports And Leisure Destination Facility In Phuket, Thailand

Muay Thai Kick Boxer Fortifies Sports and Leisure Destination Facility in Phuket, Thailand

The fight to become the world’s top international sports facility just became more rigourous as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has brought in former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to manage the martial arts program at the sprawling Phuket, Thailand sports centre.   Just as muay thai kickboxing requires dedication and talent, the move is just one more example of the PIASLC recruiting top experts to staff the emerging remarkable facility and help position it as the premier sports and leisure destination in Asia.

Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has diverse first-class sports, wellness and recreational facilities in operation with more being constructed and  planned for the future.

The PIASLCis organized into specialized sports academies.  The new appointmentof Prasert Intanoo will bring the Martial Arts Academy to international attention.   The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy have already established themselves as premier programmes. BSS uses Futebol de Salao (FDS).  The training and game is characterized as a 5-a-side version of football with origins in Brazil.  FDS is played with a smaller (size 2), and slightly heavier (465gm) ball that has very little bounce to it.   Now Muay Thai joins the top-rated youth soccer training programme available at the finest sports and recreation complex in Southeast Asia.

Former Thailand national flyweight champ Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional boxer for 15 years with an outstanding record of seventy victories.  He graduated from university with a degree in physical education.  He later worked for the Marriott hospitality group as a Muay Thai instructor, and in his role as Recreation Supervisor directed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a certified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as an instructor.

The PIASLC is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA).  PIA  is a pioneering sports, education, arts and wellness complex sited in Phuket, Thailand.   It comprises three synergistic centres: the PIA Day School, the PIA Sports and Leisure Club, and the PIA Mind Centre.  They offer students, parents and people from all over Phuket, and international communities, a modern, sustainable facility which focuses on education, sports, arts and wellness.  PIA is situated in an environment of natural beauty among the foothills of a national park on the eastern part of Phuket, Thailand.  The view of Phuket International Academy is to fulfill the intellectual, physical, creative and spiritual potential of all students, members and participants of the three centres.

The Phuket International Academy Day School (PIADS) is working to develop into a three programme International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The Phuket International Academy Day School has first-rate facilities, teachers, trainers, staff and administration.

Phuket International Academy Mind Centre (PIAMC) is now holding retreats while the balance of the complex is nearing completion and will soon begin to offer a greater range of training in the development of cognitive and emotional balance.  Delivered through residential retreats and weekend seminars PIAMC is open to all. Working in close interaction with the PIA Day School and the Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club, the programmes offered through Phuket International Academy Mind Centre will contribute to participant’s healthier mental balance and wellbeing.
