The Dogta 1900NCP Field Star – Is It The Perfect Electronic Training Collar?

The Dogtra 1900NCP Field Star is an extremely compact dog collar.  There is a 1/2 mile range on the electronic dog trainer so you have plenty of scope to regulate the distance your dog gets from you.  The fact that it’s waterproof takes its utility to a whole new level.  This means using the collar on your dog around lakes, creeks or rivers isn’t an issue.  Whether your dog is stubborn or meek, the Dogtra 1900NCP Field Star is suitable to train all dogs temperaments.  It is a faultless choice for all breeds and sizes of dogs, whether they are at entry level training up to K-9 status.

The collar strap of Dogtra 1900NCP is adjustable and weighs only 7.9oz and will accomodate a dogs neck up to 28″.Trimming off the extra part of the adjustable strap as per your dogs comfort is required if you have a smaller dog.  The collar is a great design as there isn’t antennae or wiring inside the strap which means it can be effortlessly resized.  The contact points are made from surgical stainless steel and all the plastic is anti-microbial.  Hence the Dogtra electronic collar can be worn without any discomfort for long stretches of time.

You should get three to five years of good use from the excellent quality NiMH batteries on the rechargeable collar.  The LED light on the collar indicates the charge.  If you can see it red and blinking a recharge is needed.  Amber shows it has a half charge and green shows a full charge.  The Dogtra 1900NCP Star Series transmitter is very compact and has a weight of only 4.8 oz.  It’s also fitted with a NiMH battery which is rechargeable and also easily replaceable.  The LED light in the transmitter shows the different colours indicating battery life as with the collar.  There are three levels of stimulation i.e. the Nick, the Constant and the Page.   Nick emits a rapid single pulse.  Constant is for a continuous electronic simulation while the button is pressed, up to a maximum of 8 seconds.  The page is a non-eletronic stimulation, this is excellent for re-enforcement of previous training.  The 1900NCP Dogtra transmitter has a rheostat dial which allows the intensity of the stimulation to be adjusted between levels 0-127.  The rheostat stimulation control increases the stimulation from low to high without any sudden jumps and is one of Dogtra’s best features.  The degree of stimulation is shown on the LCD screen of the transmitter as well as the level of battery life left.

A complete package of the Dogtra 1900NCP Field Master contains a transmitter, collar, battery charger, splitter cable, test light.  It also has fantastic quality carrying case, to make sure you can keep it safe while travelling and a detailed owner’s manual which has all the information you need to master the device.
